Mike Swain, a
business marketing graduate from San Jose State University, has
become synonymous with judo worldwide. Swain made history in 1987 by
becoming the first male World Champion from the western hemisphere.
In addition, Mr. Swain has won medals in all major international
tournaments, including the Olympics (1988 bronze), World
Championships (1985 silver, 1987 gold, 1989 silver), and Pan
American Games (1987 gold). He is a four-time Olympian, five-time
World Team member, and was the 1996 U.S. Olympic judo coach for the
Atlanta Games. His knowledge of Judo and grappling techniques is
unsurpassed, making of him one of the most sought-after submission
teachers in the world.
Chuck
Jefferson
began
his Judo training at the age of 5 under coach Ernie Smith at the
local Judo Club. In his sophomore year in college, Chuck broke
through to get his first medal at the senior nationals. In 1999 he
completed his degree, earning a B.A. in Communication Studies.
During his collegiate judo career, Mr. Jefferson established himself
as a top prospect for USA Judo, being one of the very few people who
won four straight collegiate national titles. He is also an
Assistant coach at San Jose State University. His international
experience and understanding of elite judo and grappling competition
makes him one of the most knowledgeable experts in the field. |
